As a family-owned business, we are committed to sustainable development.

The ARNO Group aligns its sustainability strategy with ESG criteria, has been carbon neutral in its own operations since 2020 (Scope 1 and 2), and has been awarded EcoVadis Gold status for its sustainability performance.

As a third-generation family business, we are committed to sustainability. We focus on the three areas of Environmental, Social and Governance. The key to our sustainable success is our 200 employees, who are committed in their daily work. By thinking and acting sustainably and proactively, they generate the optimum for our customers and our company, without losing sight of the environment and their responsibilities.

We have reached a major milestone: In 2020, we have been carbon neutral for the first time - balanced according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (Scope 1 and Scope 2). We are proud of this, but we are not giving up on continuous improvement!

Creating Sustainable Retail

Our ambitions for the coming years:

80t CO2e savings in Scope 1 until 2032
40t CO2e savings in Scope 2 until 2032
75t CO2e savings in Scope 3 until 2032
85% Employee satisfaction
-10% Hazardous substances
195t CO2e savings until 2032

One Step closer. We have our sights firmly set on our interim target for 2027.

As partner of climate alliance (Klimabündnis) BW, ARNO has set the following interim target for 2027, linked to the monitoring report: ARNO aims to reduce its Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by 40 tonnes of CO2e by 2027.

This corresponds to a greenhouse gas reduction of approximately 20%. ARNO has set itself the target of permanently reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 2 by 40 tonnes of CO2e by 2027 compared to the base year 2021. This corresponds to a 100 percent greenhouse gas reduction in Scope 2. ARNO aims to reduce its Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 35 tonnes CO2e by 2027 compared to 2021. This corresponds to a greenhouse gas reduction of approximately 3.5 percent.

Throughout the development process, sustainability is a top priority for us.
