ARNO x Ravensburger: Focus on experiences

 

The concept developed for Ravensburger consists of two solutions: a structured shop-in-shop design and a flexible soft shop system for adaptable product presentation.

 

As a soft shop, retail design commonly refers to a flexible, often lightweight shop-in-shop system that can be quickly adapted to different retail environments.

 

More than 100 soft shops have been installed across 30 locations in Germany. The concepts are used in the toy departments of hypermarkets such as Kaufland and Marktkauf, and the Ravensburger showroom has also been updated using the shop-in-shop approach.

Key elements of the concept:

 

  • White central gondolas and tables for a clear and structured shop-in-shop layout
  • Flexible soft shop system adaptable to different retail formats and space conditions
  • LED highlight frame to emphasise products and brand presence at the point of sale

 

Focus on family values

 

 

 

The collaboration with Ravensburger was characterised by shared values. As a large family of companies, Ravensburger shares our idea of creating experiences. While ARNO focuses on creating shopping experiences, Ravensburger wants to impart knowledge with its wide range of products, promote interaction between children, family and friends and thus create valuable moments. This shared vision formed the basis for our successful projects.

Elegance and functionality combined

 

A highlight in the literal sense was the development of a high-quality white frame with an illuminated LED header for the soft shop. The so-called 'highlight frame' visually highlights the products and the brand in the supermarket and impresses with its elegant appearance. The technical realisation placed high demands: The spacing of the LED lights had to be precisely coordinated to ensure a perfect appearance without any visible light sources.

 

From planning to fourth edition

  • Adaptability: The modular system can be adjusted to different floor plans, space sizes and retail formats.
  • Consistent appearance: Standardised modules ensure a coherent shop-in-shop look despite varying layouts.
  • Scalability: Additional modules can be added or existing configurations modified as requirements change.
  • Efficient implementation: The modular design supports straightforward planning, roll-out and updates across stores.

 

We provided comprehensive support for both projects, from consultancy and design to delivery to the stores. Ongoing reprints of the soft shop underline the strong market response and confirm the continuing success of the concept.
